I started a new job as a nurse and we have to sit in classes for orientation. I’ve tried to converse with some people during break times or just a smile when we make eye contact. Many people look at me like I’m weird or try to hurry the conversation so they don’t have to keep talking to me. I’ve noticed it with parents at my kids school while waiting to pick them up. It’s not like I’m trying to talk to them when they’re busy either. And it’s usually friendly conversation but they look like they feigning a smile and then stop the interaction. I don’t know what I am doing wrong? I’ve started keeping to myself now. And it’s not like they don’t want to talk, they usually are fine with other people, so I sit by myself to not bother anyone now.
