Be specific please. I know that sometimes people go to bars, or come home drunk from bars, but what happens in between? I went to a bar last night, and there were a lot of people around me who were drinking and seemed to be having fun, but I was thinking to myself, “What do I do now?”

  1. It’s been a while since I was “out”, but generally they chat. There might be performers of some kind if it’s a club, there might be a dance floor. Some places have games (pool, etc). If you want to make people curious, bring a sketch book and do some character studies or bring a notebook to write stuff in.

  2. If you like to drink, or socialize than a bar is a place to go. Most people will engage in conversation with you if you seem friendly enough. But they might think you’re sad, lonely or an alcoholic if you’re just at a bar by yourself because most people go there with a group of friends to catch up. It’s easier to make friends at an extracurricular activity like rock climbing if you’re not used to going out and socializing at a bar or club. I’ve never kept a friend from a club or bar night out because I forget about them afterwards due to the alcohol and the only proof of interaction is following each other on instagram.

People will do cocaine, or other drugs, and primarily talk to their friends about whatever. There might be a live band playing or drag performances, burlesque performances, comedy shows, etc; depends on the type of bar you go to. Some will have tv’s and you can watch sports there and find community with the other people there watching the team play.

  3. It’s so funny that you would ask this. I don’t go to bars or clubs since covid, and I was discussing how much I miss it with a friend. She asked the same question. I typically went to bars with music, so I would drink, dance, talk to friends, talk to other people present.

  4. Talk to other drinkers, shoot pool, throw darts, play pinball, sing karaoke, watch sports, listen to music, dance, sometimes eat.
