They often ask me to hang out with them in a group with others, but when I ask them to hangout with just us two, usually they decline or try to make sure they bring someone else.

  2. Could also be that they are uncomfortable in one on one situations.

    I prefer being in a group than one on one as i can meld in the group and the attention won’t be on me all the time.
