Traditionally, the colour is absolutely white. Recently one sees brides wearing different coloured dresses (some even in black, which is traditionally the colour of mourning), but these are new fashions not traditions (these are, however, very minority trends, white still being the colour of choice).
The traditional colour for wedding dresses is white here but I think it’s becoming a bit less stuffy and a particularly with the move away from religious weddings. About 43% of marriages in Ireland are non-religious ceremonies these days. You just need a registered ‘solemniser’ who is someone who’s licensed to legally conduct and register marriages.
My grandmother was a bit of a trend setter and turned up rocking a dark purple dress back in the 1950.
Apparently three were a few raised eyebrows, but they got over it 😂
White wedding dresses became popular like in the rest of the world after [Queen Victoria started the trend](https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a40313023/queen-victoria-brides-white-gowns/) in the XIX century, first it was just the higher classes and later it populariced among all society, by the 1960’s white had become the wedding dress color.
Before women just married in their best fanciest dress, [wich was usually black](https://fincaelvivero.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/vestido-novia-negro.jpg).
Also when people still wore regional costumes in their daily lives, each town had their own wedding dress that was basically a fancier version of their traditional clothes, some examples:

Currently is the Queen Victoria boring white, but traditionally in history it used to be different in each region. Basically the best clothes you had, plus this very elaborate head flower crown called parta.
Here some of the folklore clothes.

Some people, if they dance folklore actually do marry in those.
Some head crowns:

It had become somewhat popular to incorporate some traditional folklór into your weddings. Especially the Crown head cover ceremony.
But yes as the whole world, we picked the white tradition.
