7. Mild weather year-round. Even in the winter, the average daytime temperature is in the mid 60s. In the summer, the average daytime temperature is in the mid to upper 70s. Even accounting for heat waves and cold snaps, the temperature usually never goes above 90 or below 40 in any given year. Keep in mind though, what I just said only applies to areas that are right next to the coastline. Due to microclimates, the weather can change drastically over short distances. The further you go inland, the more extreme the temperatures get. Go 15 miles inland and the average daytime temperature in the summer will be in the upper 80s.

15. You don’t bring people halfway across the world to visit a zoo! You bring the zoo to them!

    People already associate San Diego with animal attractions. The San Diego Zoo, Sea World. The San Diego Chargers.

    Mr. Hammond knew this. Before he even dreamt of an island, he began construction of an amphitheater, very near to where you are sitting now, at the inGen Waterfront Complex… but he abandoned it – in favor of something far grander and ultimately impossible.

    And so, the facility sits unused – unfinished – when it could be completed and ready to receive visitors in less than a month.

35. It is known as “America’s Finest City”as the weather is probably the best in the whole country. Beautiful beaches (the water is far warmer there than 100 miles up in Los Angeles).

    Fish tacos of course are famously associated with San Diego. The town and county as a whole are known for having a very large military population and multiple bases, specifically Navy/Marines and Coast Guard. The border of course is just a trolly ride away.
