$4.50 a pound in central Texas.
Wait, you’re paying $10 a pound? I just saw it at the grocery store today for like, 6.50.
$5-6 depending on the fat percentage. 85/15 will regularly be on sale for $3 a pound in the central US.
Safeway app in Seattle says $5.49 – $6.49 per pound for 80/20 ground beef, it depends on the size of the package. The 3lb package is cheaper per unit than the 1.3lb.
Edit: there seems to be a short term sale on 93/7 ground beef, $3.99/lb for 1.25 lbs. Members only price through 2/14/2023. If there’s any left tomorrow maybe I’ll get some.
I just bought a family pack at the grocery store, a little over 4 lbs for about $8. Nw suburb bordering Chicago.
Tampa Bay Area of Florida, USDA Choice ground chuck is running $4.99 a pound here, ground round is about 75 cents cheaper.
I was just looking at some at Costco that was 85/15 grass fed. I’m pretty sure it was $20 for 4lbs.
Dear lord that’s crazy. I don’t pay for beef because I got a good thing going trading milk and other meat for beef, but the closest store is 3.80 a pound for the fatty 70/30 about 4 for 80/20
Regular price for 80/20 is $3.99/LB at the Albertsons here in Jackson Hole.
$10 is insane.
$10/lb is ri-god-damn-diculous.
I think the worst I saw it get around me was $6.99/lb
I think now it’s back down to about $3.99/lb, which is still $1 more than it was in 2021, and is still bullshit.
You got ripped off. I paid $3.39/lb on sale at Meijer the other day. I also got boneless chuck steak for the same price.
Im in CA and it’s between $6-7 lbs here, less at Costco
I paid $5/lb for grass-fed ground beef at Costco 2 weeks ago. Meijer had regular ground beef for the same price.
You are paying double what I would.
$5-6.50 if I don’t go looking for a deal, but a local market has it at $3 for the next couple weeks.
I don’t have enough storage to buy Costco levels of ground beef.
At the farmers market, a pound of frozen ground beef is $8.50-10. We use the frozen stuff for goulash.
$3.99 for 80% ground chuck at my grocery store right now. I think it’s on sale though? I’m in CT, about an hour from you.
The market near me in NJ has it for $2.99 every Tuesday. Also boneless chicken breasts for the same price.
Ralph’s is showing it at $5.49 for 80/20 ground chuck. Los Angeles.
EDIT: Dude, are you shopping at a bodega or what? CTown in Astoria (where I shopped when I lived there) is like $6.50 a pound. Whole Foods organic 85/15 is only 8 bucks.
Cheapest I see is about $3/lb if you get the 70/30 in the tube
$3.99 a pound in Tampa at Costco today
~$5/IB
$4/lb at Costco for 85/15.
8 dollars in Chicago, 5 in lower michigan (not new buffalo)
$3.97/lb in a 3 lb pack at Albertsons.
$2.99 lb
At Hannaford I don’t pay more than $3.99/lb. Sometimes it’s marked more but…I don’t pay that.
$3.99/lb at the Safeway around the corner from me here in San Francisco right now
What the fuck. 80/20 is like $3.50/lb down here in south Jersey. The grass fed organic is $6/lb.
Sounds like you need a cooler and a little weekend trip lol.
About $5 unless I catch it on sale. Somewhere around there, anyway. I use turkey for most things I used to use ground beef for.
Current price at the local grocery store is $4.79/pound for 80/20 – it goes on sale for under $4 fairly often.
In the boonies where the farms are it’s $1.98 a pound. In town it’s $3.98.
Wow, that’s nuts. I’m in a DC suburb and food is pretty expensive here but I just checked and my local chain is selling it for $4-7.5/lb depending on fat content.
80/20 is $3.49 / lb. at my neighborhood Albertsons in Orange County, CA. 90/10 is $4.99 / lb.
