We’re still good friends. But I still expect messages from them like I did when we were together. How do I stop this thinking?

  1. Just like all expectations, it’ll be a let down.

Expecting texts and texting only prolongs the pain. Unfortunately breaks up are just like coming off a drug or addiction.

Being friends fresh out of a break up.. don’t. You owe it to yourself to have a “clean” detox without “rebounds”.

If you do end up rebounding, don’t stress. Just try again. Eventually you’ll break the habit but like any detox it’s difficult.

  2. Delete their number and live your life, focus on your life. You need to accept all this is over and they have moved on or are happy in their own world.

  3. You need to understand that no good will come of it. You miss the connection you used to have, but it’s *gone*. You’re only going to make yourself sad and prevent yourself from moving on and finding a new connection.
