in my experience commercial social media works better that way.
can’t deny i’ve made a few frowns online first but i really don’t know how i did that besides being simply and sincerely and genuinely my self.
You’re not supposed to make friends ON social media. You’re supposed to make friends IRL and USE social media in improve the friendship. So that’s your first mistake. The people you added are just acquaintances. So you need to make some friends IRL first and then on social media, add photos of you two and tag them, invite them to activities, and then message them back and forth.
I’ve actually made friends with people over time via stories and story replies. But it’s never been intentional
