So I’m a 27 M, but I’ve always maintained friendships more often with women. When I was a kid that didn’t matter, but then when I was a teenager it was hell because I was attracted to my friends. Now I can’t seem to make a friend unless there’s an underlying sexual or romantic interest that blooms. I’ve known a couple of women who also have this problem, but I’ve never met another guy who has a similar issue. I would very much enjoy having a male friend or two, even though my brother and I are very close (we just live very different lives and have very different schedules) but I’m wondering what anyone else thinks of this.

Have you ever been traumatized or lead to believe that men are bad? Maybe raised by single mom who kept talking bad about your father? Had an abusive farther/step father? It’s easier to form relationships with “safe” people. And if growing up you were instilled with a belief that men are bad could easily push you towards this route. That’s my hypothesis with my own situation at least
