I was never a good person when it came for socializing, I’m in my mid twenties and I’m seeing that I’m starting to develop these kind of skills. But… I was also never that intimate to my family, I love them but when I’m with them it’s like I don’t care about their presence or the need to socialize.

Do you think having a good (active) relationship with your family affects the development of social skills? Is there a study about this?

  1. Speaking from personal experience, I was raised in a broken home, and the trauma of that definitely impacted my ability to trust my instincts when it came to other people.

However, once I moved out and got the chance to grow into myself, I’ve found it very easy to make friends, to the point where people call me “charismatic” – years later, the only people in the world I still can’t win over are my family.
