So, a bit more information: I’m a bagger at kroger, and I thought of trying to say hi to some of the cashiers I was bagging for today, but I realized it seemed too awkward because they’re either already talking to the customer, or it’s silent and it would feel weird to talk to them in the moment. I feel like the second scenario would probably be an ok time to say hi to them, but I’m just too shy and anxious. Or is this just not an appropriate time to be talking to the cashier in the first place? I’m just very confused and clueless. Plus what would I even talk to them about? Hopefully this question isn’t too dumb.
