Especially for a dark skinned guy. And pls not the obvious one about getting fit.

Edit: I should also add that I am a college student.

  1. Regardless of body type of fitness wear clothes that fit. Don’t buy anything too tight or too loose. If your skin has a darker complexion wear lighter or neutral colors.

  2. Get fit.

Also, the colors that look good on you will be completely different from the colors that look good on me. Do a color consult because you have a really cool set of colors available.

  3. Learn the basics about fit, color, fabric. “Real Men, Real Style” hosted by a former marine on YouTube has a lot of videos that will get you started

  4. Learn the basics of color coordination and what goes well together. Get a lot of versatile pieces of clothing.

Less is often more with color and styling. There are looks that you can’t go wrong with. Solid color button down shirts with chinos and boots. It looks good on everyone and nobody dislikes it.

Don’t wear a lot of graphic t shirts if you’re over 25 (sorry I know people like them) but a lot of them look cheap and it looks like you’re trying to be a teenager. No attractive woman is going to find your band shirt super cool. Most women unless they are into some very specific style are going to look for men that look put together and presentable with well-fitting clothing. A good very casual outfit is jeans that fit and don’t have holes in them, with a solid color t shirt, boots or fashionable sneakers (not like basketball sneakers or skateboarding ones).

Also it doesn’t have to be expensive or designer. Nobody is going to know what brand your pants are.

  5. Wear clothes or find a style that fits your body type.

If you’re heavier set or big-boned, wear something that’s a slightly looser fit, or uses thicker material that has a more neutral or darker color to it.

If you’re on the skinnier side or slender, wear something slightly more fitted (but not overly fitted) that accentuates your body a little bit more. Bigger clothes can give off a homely or “potato sack” look to them if too loose fitting. If you feel you look “too” skinny, wear longer sleeve tees, sweaters, or sweat shirts that are more fitted and you can roll up the sleeves which gives an illusion of more size on your upper body and arms.

  6. Men tend to shy away from wearing vibrant colours; don’t limit yourself to darks & neutrals. Also the less logos the better

  7. Groom your facial hair. Balance out any imbalances, trim neckline, use an electric razor with a grade.

Invest in a nice jacket since it’s the thing that’s going to go with your outfit every time you wear it.

Start an outfit with the shoes and work upward.

  8. I love how everyone immediately went to “get fit”

So first tip: find a style that you like. Look some up
Whether it be Tech (straps everywhere, loose top), Metro, street…etc then match the style.

2: Learn Color coordination. All black fits work, black pants are very versatile. So are black/white shirts. If you’re wearing tie dye pants then a white shirt would match

    3. Size appropriately. If you got a little belly maybe skin tight shirts aren’t for you, buy a size up to get a cleaner look.

    4. Check your shoe game. Always have a pair of nice shoes and some beatups, but them in neutral colors, black or white if you aren’t trying for a fashion statement so you can match with outfits

    5. Accessorize! Rings, chains, and watches oh my! Adding a little gold or silver can finish off an outfit or make a new dimension into an old one

    6. Keep good hygiene. Smells, soaps, wash your face, get your hair touched up, also can sell an outfit

  9. Hi! Woman here but I’ve actually styled models and people for events, so I am qualified!

    – Dress for your body type. Brighter colors and designs pop. So, wear those on places you want to highlight, and black on places you want to hide

    I think a shirt like this [https://www.77onlineshop.nl/$WS/77onlineshop/websale8_shop-77onlineshop/produkte/medien/bilder/gross/19125425.jpg](https://www.77onlineshop.nl/$WS/77onlineshop/websale8_shop-77onlineshop/produkte/medien/bilder/gross/19125425.jpg)

would look good on you too because the design draws the eyes upward. It creates and illusion of the V shaped male attractive body. Especially if you wear black on the bottom

    – Lastly, SHOES are important! Find a pair that matches colors or textures with another higher clothing item (like belt, hat or jacket) to tie everything together

    Hope this helps 🙂

  10. Studies have shown that you look more attractive in a suit to women

    Which explains

    “SUIT UP!”

I tend to stick with at most 3 different colours at a time for anything casual.

  11. Dress to a specific style or and I can not stress this enough wear colors that go with each other. Also accessorize, this is very important. Wear a hat or some necklaces or maby some rings. Accessorizing can really enhance a look and accessories look good on almost everyone.

  12. Depends what your build is like. What face shape? do you wear glasses/contacts? can you grow decent facial hair?

  13. I’m a woman who answers questions on here a lot, lol.

Apparently I’m far from alone in how I find it hot when men have their sleeves rolled up so you can see their forearms. I saw a meme about it. So that’s my advice.

  14. Save money for leather jacket, t shirt, and some skinny jeans. Probably the easiest drip a man can pull for the most perceived effort. Go for faux leather for cheaper alternative. Go to target for a goodfellas shirt. They go for clearance for like 6 bucks. Biggest expense are gonna be jcket and jeans. Comb your hair apply deo and you’ll make it champ.

Fashion can be flashy and frugal if you’re smart.

  15. Think in term of archetypes and then make it work for your physique.

Rules will be very different if you want to be seen as husband material or more as a casual guy for instance. Or if you aim for a more arty avant-gardist style, the advices about wanting a V shape silhouette are not pertinent.

In my country dark skin people sadly can suffer from social stigma. Dressing up (shirts, white collar job aesthetic) more than the average white dude usually have very impactful result.

Enjoy the process, you will try and fail many times, but at the end it is very rewarding !
