So I went to sleep around 1am and said goodnight to my girlfriend. Messages on my phone woke me up at around 4am and it was my gf accusing me of catfishing her from a fake number.

I was shocked and confused and we had a back and forth, and I felt so frustrated as there was no way to prove it wasn’t me.

The texts he had with thr creep went like this:

Him: Hey

Gf: Who is this

Him: Oops, seems like its a wrong number hahahah

Sorry🙉🙉🙉

Gf: You are creepy whoever you are stop writing me

Him: What are you afraid of hahaha? Don’t worry

Gf: Get lost

Him: Thanks

Gf: Where did u get my number?

Him: I have no idea i swear

I had it in contacts and clicked it on accident and saw i made a mistake

Btw i am from [City] just so you know, i dont go out a lot, not visiting clubs and such

Sorry if i scared you

Gf: I’m blocking you anyway

Him: Where are you from?

Gf: I don’t want to communicate

Him: Ok block sure, can you just tell me your age first?

At this point she blocked him, but she is now accusing me of doing this to check if she would cheat on me. I trust her fully, and even if i didn’t, i wouldn’t do something so toxic under any circumstance.

I told her we’ll call the number when we meet up tomorrow and see who it is. She agreed, but she still thinks it’s me.

I’m super paranoid right now about who it might be, and on top of that, stressed and frustrated because i am accused of something i didn’t do.

We were supposed to have a nice valentines date tomorrow, and instead we have to play detective.

What do you think is the best course of action here?
