I replaced a failed worm gear on a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer thanks to a how to video – a very minor procedure but I felt an immense sense of pride at getting it to work again.

  1. Changed the lid switch assembly on my washing machine. Getting the cover back on was also a bit tricky, watched another video to get that done. Took about an hour and ordered the part online for 30 bucks.

  2. I had to replace a seal and gasket on a pump for a building heating water system. The video was in German but I got the main points of how to do it.

  3. How to gently break up with my girlfriend so she doesn’t cut all of her hair off in my truck with a pair of kitchen shears that she pulled out from literally out of nowhere.

No results, which I thought was odd

  4. Sadly probably installing one of those step buttons that turns on a lamp. Oh or defrosting my drainage tube thing from my freezer

  5. I tore apart and cleaned my dishwasher stuff so there would be no more standing water. Also installed a turntable cartridge

  6. Folded a fitted sheet.

When we first got married my wife worked full time and I was finishing up a part time internship to officially graduate. And I was doing laundry one day and was like, there has to be a right way to fold it. And really once you figure it out it feels oddly simple.

  7. Removing bloody splinters from animals wounds and how to sanitize, drain, suture; etc.

  8. Technically it was a couple YouTube videos combined for several tasks, but, wired in ethernet all over my house. Entry point in the basement off my large Juniper switch, all the way up to the attic, then back down through the walls and also several lines running outside to PoE powered security cameras.

Had to learn how to perform cable pulls, how to install wire boxes, how to terminate ethernet cables, how to properly get lines through to outside from the attic, how to easily use a wire to drill holes at the right spot on finished walls…

But now my whole house has gigabit lines!

  9. Almost changed everything in my car that isnt working. Still trying to figure out somethings though.
