My fellow Americans, how does the comedy of Homie the Clown hold up today?

1. I’d say it holds up fine. Modern Americans mostly believe in racial essentialism, and and Homie never used the N word.

   That said, the character is bad for Dave Chappelle’s career, even though Damon Wayans played Homie and Chappelle was just sort of “around.”

2. Homie wouldn’t play a lot of things right now.

4. We used to recreate his sock-club and take them to school. You never knew when someone was gonna bop you, that thing hurt too. Homey don’t play dat.

5. I still find it funny. I absolutely loved In Living Color as a kid, watched with my parents every weekend.

   He’s as funny as ever!

7. I think it was questionable at the time… it’s literally just a clown that hits people and has a catchphrase. It’s not particularly clever or anything. Then again MadTV stayed on the air for years and wasn’t more than a bunch of overacting and fart jokes.

   Shit was funny when I was a child, just seems too ‘try hard’ for me these days.
