I’d say it holds up fine. Modern Americans mostly believe in racial essentialism, and and Homie never used the N word.
That said, the character is bad for Dave Chappelle’s career, even though Damon Wayans played Homie and Chappelle was just sort of “around.”

He’s as funny as ever!
I think it was questionable at the time… it’s literally just a clown that hits people and has a catchphrase. It’s not particularly clever or anything. Then again MadTV stayed on the air for years and wasn’t more than a bunch of overacting and fart jokes.
Shit was funny when I was a child, just seems too ‘try hard’ for me these days.
