So my ex just told me that she loved me because I made her remind of one of her very old and favourite childhood best friend for which she developed feelings for who sadly passed away. She explained after that when I came in her life I resembled her best friend by looks as well as behaviour…When I asked her “is that why you dated me ?”, she said no no it’s also because I love you…what does it mean ? Is she lying to me or did she genuinely ever love me ?

You can not compete with a deceased person. If the only reason why she felt attracted to you was because of the resemblance you both share and not for who you are as a whole person then she should continue being your ex.
I mean, she is your ex for a reason. Why would you care why she loved you
Forget about her, she tried to find someone in somebody else and it didn’t work.
