I paid 20 dollars for my learners permit, 5 dollars for the written test, 35 dollars for the skills test, and then 60 for my actual license, so the whole process ran me 120 dollars. I have no idea if i’m average or not, but unless you’re really in need of a ton of driving lessons I doubt most people spend lots more than that.
I had driving lessons for free in highschool, and both the learners permit and drivers liscense are $36.25.
OP this is going to vary wildly by state, there is no average.
I think it was like 400 for driving school.
According to the CA DMV, a Class C License cost around [$41](https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/driver-licenses-identification-cards/licensing-fees/). There’s other costs associated on obtaining one (like hiring a driving school) but the lowest amount is definitely $41.
$24 for a 4 year license here.
We had driving school in high school when I was a teenager. License itself was less than $20 but we’re talking 1984, don’t ask me to be highly accurate, lol. Now I think it’s around $45 every 8 years up till 65. Every 4 years after that.
