We halve a grapefruit and loosen the segments with a knife to scoop out with a spoon.

Why don’t we do this with other citrus fruits?

  1. The membrane / skin around the juice segments in grapefruit are very bitter so I usually peel that off when I eat grapefruit. In oranges the taste is barely noticeable so I have no issue eating it as a whole.

  2. With a large non-easy-peeler orange my preferred technique is to cut into quarters then go face first into the flesh.

  3. Grapefruit is the best. I do various methods cutting them up. I do like the Sunday league wedge method mostly.
