I \[m23\] am planning on breaking up with my gf \[f23\]. We been together for 2 months and everything is perfect in theory. She has high goals/ambitions, she has similar hobbies as me, she’s beautiful, and she already has started her career. The downside of all this is that I never get time to see her.

Our schedules are completely opposite, she works weekdays off weekends, i work weekends and go to school weekdays. I consistently try and make time for her on weekends (the times she prefers to hangout) when I get off work, i forego the gym or sacrifice sleep just to try and see her. It just seems like I don’t see her making the same or similar type of sacrifices which is fine, but she also doesn’t put a ton of effort in elsewhere. We text twice a day, in the morning to wish each other well and sometimes at night to recap our days. It just seems so disappointing that this isn’t working.

I’m just unhappy with the fact that I can’t see her, it feels like the only thing that makes us together in a relationship is that we are exclusive to one another. Except i don’t get the emotional support, physical support or really anything else a relationship *should* provide. I find myself craving attention and i think it’s unfair to her and myself to feel this way. I have a lot of respect for her and would never cheat, the main thing is that she has such good qualities and potential. Things are fresh and we’re so young but if there’s anyone who has ever had the qualities of a long-term partner, it’s her. Unfortunately it just feels like a right person, wrong time situation.

Others who have had a right person wrong time situation, how did it make you feel, when did you realize this was the case?

*TLDR: i’m gonna end things with my gf bc i never get to see her. A case of right person wrong time and i feel sad bc she has so many great qualities*
