i’ve been dating my boyfriend for almost 5 months and am completely in love with him. we are in a monogamous relationship, and we are both extremely loyal. however, every time we go out and I see an attractive female I get really insecure and think he’s going to think she’s attractive and think about her in the way he thinks about me. I know it’s normal to think others are attractive even when you’re with someone, but in my past relationship my ex used to talk about other women all the time. I think it’s affecting me in this healthy relationship now. I just want it to stop because it genuinely makes me really feel like shit and takes me back to my old relationship. his friends always talk about how fine some women are (whether they be celebrities or people they went to school with) and he never really participates in the conversation and he told me because it’s a “respect thing”. I trust him so much but I really can’t help but feel like there’s so many better girls out there for him.

  1. You should probably speak to a professional to help you navigate getting past things that happened in your last relationship.

  2. Alright alright, when you see an attractive guy walking by do you think the same about yourself and your boyfriend vice verse? If you don’t then I’m sure your boyfriend doesn’t either aha.

Genuinely though if u want to stop these thoughts of when people walk by get used to not thinking about it and focus on ur breathing. Say I notice this jealously in me as you take a deep breathe in and as you breathe out say this. I am letting go.

Trust me helps 🙂 with any thoughts for that matter (I use it for anger helps me keep it under control easily with this breathing)

  3. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging that another human is conventionally attractive.

This is a self-esteem problem, and it sounds like you’d really benefit from some sort of therapy.
