I saw tinder notifications on his google pixel phone even though he says it is uninstalled. He says they are reminder texts so get back on the app. I have an iPhone and do not receive these notifications. Is it different on a google pixel? Would it make a difference if it was just deleted verses uninstalled? I’m asking specifically about a google pixel phone bc he claims they bombard you with notifications like this.

  1. Were these text messages or app notifications. If the app is uninstalled the play store wouldn’t really do that.

  2. Is it possible he deleted the shortcut thinking that was the same as uninstalling it? If he’s apparently getting notifications from a bunch of apps that he has ‘uninstalled’ then maybe he just doesn’t know how to properly uninstall apps.

  3. I’ve got a Google pixel, along with recently uninstalled apps…I definitely do not get random notifications.

  4. Tell him to download it again and open it in front of you. If he refuses that’s all you need to know.

Also, when are we going to stop falling for the “oh it’s an automatic notification” excuse. This literally never happens.

  5. If the app is uninstalled he shouldn’t be receiving notifications.

Is he sure he actually uninstalled it from his phone or did he just delete the app from his Home Screen?

His Google play store app (profile icon, manage apps & devices, manage, “name of app”) will show if it is still installed or not.

  6. He is lying. First, that’s no how apps work. Second, apps usually email you to get back to the app or something, but they don’t text you (because costs apply and you usually haven’t consented to getting text from them).

In google pixel is easier to make it seem like you don’t have an app, but you have it. You can delete the short cut, move it to a folder, or even have the app within a cloner app (like a virtual machine in your phone in which you have an app that you can a second account for or just to hide it).

You can go to his Play Store and it should tell you when he installed the app last, etc. You can also look into app usage to see which apps he is using (if you see a weird app, it could be a clone app and he is using tinder inside of that).

  7. he won’t be getting notifications if it’s uninstalled.

if the account is disabled but the app is still installed they’d push him notifications to tempt him to come back, but not if it’s uninstalled. it simply cannot do that.

  8. The only thing I get would be Google notification about apps I haven’t used in awhile. It will ask me if they can delete them. The apps themselves don’t send you notifications.

  9. You can put apps in “invisible” files and folders on Android phones, unless you specifically disable the notifications you’ll still get them. I don’t use the private folders so I don’t remember how to access them. Access his play store and it’ll give you a list of apps that are installed even in private folders.

  10. He is lying!! He would get emails to reinstall the app, not app notifications from an app he deleted!

  11. No phone is going to give you notifications for an app that is no longer on the phone, if he’s getting notifications its still installed and he probably has it hidden in a folder.

  12. Lmao it’s sending him notifications because he has it installed but hasn’t opened it in a few days. The app has that feature that can’t be turned off unless you turn off all notifications. So to sum it up he has it installed and the app is sending him notifications so he engages more.

Edit: it does this to every phone regardless of OS and brand.

  13. He definitely has the app on his phone. Apps will send you useless notifications to try and get you to engage. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I don’t really bother deleting and redownloading apps all the time. If I enter a relationship I just deactivate my account/kill notifications to it. If the relationship lasts long enough then sure I’ll go and delete it.

He still has the app on his phone for sure. If he’s lying about having it that’s unfortunate. Maybe he just hasn’t deleted it yet and worries you’ll jump to conclusions. Or maybe he’s a piece of shit who knows. Not really enough to go on I think.

  14. I get reminder notifications from apps I have on my phone but an app I deleted? I could see an email but a notification? No way. I work in the cell phone industry and this doesn’t happen. Imagine getting notifications from apps you no longer have 😂

  15. Can’t he just show you his apps? I’ve literally never received a notification for an app that was uninstalled
