So I’m not a native speaker in English, but I would say I have a pretty decent level (studied English for years, passed TOEFL, took the SAT, now in a U.S college). When I have casual conversations with some (not all) American college students I find it hard to know exactly what they are saying, especially in noisy environment which is the case all the time in college I guess. I find them speaking rather fast and a bit unclear. It really sucks not knowing exactly what they are talking about and having to secretly guess it and come up with vague answers or follow-ups. I also feel like an outsider too. What should I do?
