I (17M) want to message and see how my old classmate’s doing. It’s been around 2 years since we stopped being classmates, but the problem is that I have always been a quiet kid in my previous school. I was a very quiet child when I was little, and my old classmates have always seen me like that, even when I got much older, but I changed ever since I got to high school, which is a completely different school from where I used to go. I didn’t really talk to anyone before, except maybe 1 person. I just want some advice on how to not make anything awkward since I am not a quiet kid anymore (although still an introvert). I just want to become proper friends, but I am just nervous it might be too awkward, or I won’t be talked with.

  1. Just say hi and ask how he is doing.

That’s it. The best and honest thing you can write 🙂

  2. Don’t overthink it or hype up the scenario. If they don’t respond to your initial greeting, then just give this person more time.

You never know his/her life circumstances.

Try to find out more through a mutual acquaintance.

    Good luck.

  3. Just reach out and ask how they have been or if you have them on social media and they’ve posted about something recently maybe ask about it and keep the convo going
