Before anyone starts, hear me out –

My mum has given up smoking after 50 years, but cannot cope without nicotine. Nothing works. Except vapes. She can’t be doing with all the fucking about with liquids and coils, and recharging, so the disposable ones are great, perfect.

But, I want to buy a load in one go online. They should be totally automatic (not even needing to press a button) and have a high nicotine level. We’re talking a 60 a day smoker here.

To address the obvious points –

1. I know vaping “might be bad” but there’s no evidence yet. Yes, I know “but we said that about cigs!” – we didn’t . It was known smoking killed people for centuries. It just so happened that marketing came along about the same time as modern medicine so big tobacco suppressed studies for decades. That doesn’t happen nowadays – yes we don’t know for certain vapes are safe, but largely because they haven’t been around for 50 years yet. We do know they’re much better than smoking 60 a day.
2. Yes, disposable ones are bad for the environment because fuckwits chuck them on the floor. All used ones will go in a box and I’ll take them to the recycling centre where there is a dedicated li-ion battery bin. I’m quite a staunch environmentalist.
3. For what it’s worth, I think they should be banned for sale and prescribed solely on the NHS for long term smokers as a quitting tool. For many people, like my mum, they’re the only thing that works.

  1. If you Google for ‘wholesale e-cigs’ you’ll find loads of results – at the same price your corner shop is paying for them.

You probably won’t have the purchasing power to go direct to the manufacturers so that’s the best you’ll get

  2. Askuk is a subreddit where the prevailing attitude is to aggressively direct individuals to use Google as their primary source of information. Despite the evolution of search engine technology over the years, many members of this community are middle-aged and still hold onto the notion that Google is a reliable tool from the early 2000s.

However, in reality, Google’s algorithms have shifted towards promoting the websites with the highest incoming traffic, rather than necessarily providing the most relevant or useful results for individual search queries.

As a result, users may often find themselves frustrated by the top results presented to them, which may not actually be the information they were seeking.

This is a legit Vape shop that has actual shops as well as a website and they’re doing 3 elf bars for £9.99 just now which is a good price. I don’t know if there’s a restriction on how many you can add to your basket at once but it’s worth a try.

  4. Good on your Mum.

    Has she read the book:

Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr ?

    Has she tried nicotine patches?

  5. If she’s using them now why not ask her which brand/model she prefers?
Then look up the safety record if it’s all clear then search around and bulk buy them.

  6. Are you very wealthy? Disposable will cost a fortune compared a mod. Running costs of a mod about £10 a week, even for a heavy smoker. If you are happy to help her get some extra tanks and fill them for her.

  7. Don’t get bogged down arguing with the pricks. Good luck with your search. I know not much about vapes

  8. Have you considered the pod versions of Vuse? It’s a rechargeable vape device with disposable pods of up to 18mg nicotine. This will likely end up more environmentally friendly and less expensive than the SALT / Elfbars that you purchase and dispose of.
