what are meaningful ways to celebrate womens day?

  1. Go to work. What else is there to do? Post spam about it on Facebook or instagram where no one will interact with it unless it’s essentially a thirst trap? It’s not a holiday, nothing is closed that is normally open, I don’t get extra pay, and even if there’s was gatherings I don’t like strangers and would rather stay home.

Maybe have a moment to appreciate that I get to work a hard labor and potentially deadly job, that i am not expected to be a baby factory (people [women] shame me for not having kids), that I’m not sold into or forced to get married (people [women] shame me for not being married yet), and have my bf cook dinner (it’s his turn anyways). It’s just not a thing for me.

  2. Make a donation to a women’s shelter or to an organisation working for women’s rights. Maybe buy a cake from a women-owned bakery, if you want to celebrate the traditional way.
