I find myself often going through my friends list on messaging apps and wondering if its worth trying to reach out to various people just to catch up and start a conversation. However I know that it wouldn’t be realistic to arrange a meetup up with them irl, due to location, time, etc.
Do you guys keep in touch with people who you don’t really have any plans of seeing irl in the near future?

Is there a point? Sure. If you value them. If not, then no. I have folks that are pretty good friends online I’ve met through mutual interests and have clicked with and keep up with even though I’ll probably never meet them in person. But it’s different for different people and situations.
There are far far more people from those same interest groups I no longer speak to at all as well.
