Hello all,

So I have noticed throughout my life that even though I am a natural introvert, I come across as even more serious and cold then I feel like I am.

There are numerous examples of when this is on display such as when other co-workers tell others things and make jokes with them that they never would with me. Or when someone is speaking in front of a decent size group they never make eye contact with me and seem to do so with everyone else. How can I escape this issue of not being seen as someone warm and friendly?

Do I have to go more out of my way more than other people because of my “resting bitch face” and serious demeanor?

  1. 1. See if you are crossing your arms too many times. It can be a subtle sign of “do not bother me”.

    2. Conscious effort to smile once in a while. It can be exhausting initially until it becomes a new habit. Also partaking more in laughing with others.

    3. Do you usually dress formal and in drab colors even when casual is the way to go?

    4. Really being interested in what others have to say with follow up questions and also disclosing appropriate amount of related personal POV/ information etc.
