With the recent divide between women on social media, what is something in your life experience that you wish women who didn’t have to go through a transition could better understand?

  1. That trans is an adjective. I’m a trans woman, not a “transwoman”. I’m also a tall woman, a curly haired woman, an autistic woman… That there are a lot of adjectives that give you one facet of us, and trans is rarely the most important. The thing that remains is that I am who I say I am; a woman.

That we know our upbringing/socialisation was likely different from yours, but it wasn’t the same as a cis man’s either.

That there are no prizes for “most victimised”.

That we are fighting with you, not against you.
