I’m in high school. There was a paper due today. I turn over to my friend to ask if she did it she said no.
This girl was looking at the paper and I said if she did it and she noded no . Then she says to everyone “(my name) is an overachiever”
I didn’t take offense to it at all. But now I’m thinking about it, was this to be rude? Or insulting?
She’s the outgoing girl in the class. And I never really got bad vibes from her. When it happened I took it more as that’s who she is. But now my brain keeps thinking about this incident for some reason?

Don’t worry about it. She was probably just making a joke about you being the only one that did the paper on time. People who usually ask their friends if they did the assignment did not do the assignment. It can come off as braggy if you are holding your assignment asking if others did the assignment.
Being an ”overachiver” is good, I wasn’t but I wish were.
I think she was trying to cover up her shame about not doing the paper. Depends on how she said it. Some people will put people down just because they are not up.
Don’t overthink it. It is not bad to be an overachiever, just go with what works for you.
