  1. The Cure. My mom used to tell me that the only way she could get me to sleep some nights was by playing Lovecats, which I love and listen to regularly to this day.

  2. Sorry I can’t choose just one so my absolute favs are:
Pour Some Sugar on Me” by Def Leppard (1987),Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses (1987) and “In the Air Tonight” by Phil Collins(1981). As for the 90s meh but I used to listen to this “Waiting For Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez (1999). I blame my pops for the 80s 😝

  3. When I was 10 or 11, I really loved the Bangles and Bananarama. Then I got on this huge B52s kick. Later teenage years, Liz Phair.

  4. Tears For Fears – Everyone Wants To Rule the World

Whitney Houston – I Wanna Dance With Somebody

    Michael Jackson – Beat It

Modern English – Life’s Rich Tapestry

Madonna – The Power of Goodbye

    La Bouche – Sweet Dreams

    Smashing Pumpkins

    The Cranberries

    Bush

Garbage – Only Happy When It Rains

    Alice In Chains

    Weezer

    Pearl Jam

    Foo Fighters

    and many more eeeeek!!!!

  5. Portishead and Mazzy Star are some that I haven’t seen mentioned yet.

I also fell down a rabbit hole once after discovering “Plastic Love” by Mariya Takeuchi and found that I like 80s Japanese pop.

  6. a bit cliché but Guns n Roses was a fave of mine as a teen. Don’t Cry from them is my go to comfort song

  7. Madonna, Whitesnake, Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson, Lisa Lisa, Taylor Dane, Evelyn “Champagne” King, Sade, Tupac, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg, Spice Girls…list goes on and on.

  8. Sinead O’Connor. I didn’t discover her until the late 90’s and have loved her since.

  9. No Doubt! In the 90s they were so fun! I grew up dreaming of pink hair thanks to Gwen Stefani, was obsessed since I was a kid. I remember sitting way too close to the tv watching their music videos.

  10. Blind Melon. Shannon Hoon was Janis reincarnated. Candlebox, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Temple of the Dog, Tonic. Everclear had a lot of great songs. Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms.
