I remember them gaining some traction a few years back and then just never hearing about them again. I never owned one, but imo, I think it could be nice?

Edit: I only get notifications in summary, so my surprise when I had 50+ from Reddit 😂

I appreciate everyone’s input, both good and bad, and the most cohesive argument against them I can find is shitting, that would be a bitch.

I’m starting to see why they died off 😂

  1. No idea what you were talking about so I googled it.

And I thought assless chaps where the gayest clothing I have ever seen…

  2. Gay tbh. If you’re trying to attract men, it’s an option. If you’re going for women, don’t.

  3. I love my shop coveralls, but I imagine you’re talking about something with a whole lot less dignity.

  4. OP, seriously, folks talking about them being gay or what have you, who cares. Dress how you want to dress and tell everyone else to pound sand.

Whether you’re het, bi, gay or something else entirely (or even partially,) you do you – there will be people that appreciate you for that.

And those that don’t aren’t on your level & not worth your time or concern.

Romp it up if you want to. Life is short, try all the things that catch your fancy while you can.

One day you’ll be 50 and you’ll look back & think, “damn, I wish I had given it a try.”

Have fun, make your own style, dress in a way that feels good to you.

  5. I have one and I love it. It’s very summery. I’ve worn in to a BBQ, for an afternoon on a boat with some friends, and just hanging out in the park. It’s a bit of a statement, but I think mine looks good on me.

  6. i remember that. it was hilarious, there was this viral picture of like ten actual, legitimate models posing in them and all the women were like “omg they’re so hot!” but like….those dudes look hot in anything. give them parachute pants, an ugly christmas sweater and a bike helmet and they’ll look good. One or two average looking dudes tried it and women were like “lmfao never mind”

  7. Personally, I think they’re the dumbest thing in clothing in recent years. Worse even than those fucked up lookin yeezy shoes.

  8. Just seems like a way to beg to have your ass kicked…. But virtually anyone: SJWs, frat boys, a plumber, criminals/gang bangers, townies, regulars, drunk CPAs, bouncers, lesbians, adult league bowling or softball team, Mardi Gras revealers, teachers on trivia night, Crossfitters…. Anyone who sees an adult man in a romper (ironic or not) experiences an innate desire to kick their ass. Not everyone will give into that desire, but you’re asking for a lot of restraint by wearing a romper and your number will come up.

  9. It doesn’t appeal to me but as is usually my stance, to each their own.

  10. The only straight man who could pull it off was Steve Irwin. But If you want to try, go ahead. What does it matter to me

  11. Can OP provide some pictures for reference ? If he’s talking about what I think he is, this shouldn’t be an issue…

  12. I’ve always wanted to wear one, but never get around to buying. They look perfect for the summer, and I love the colours/patters they usually have.

Downside is I poop a lot.

  13. I had to Google it but its just more of this creepy infanticising that started with women and is now starting with guys. I’d question the motive of why anyone would want to dress like a toddler.

  14. My chonky ass isn’t going to pull off that look. But if it looks good on you, I don’t see why not.

  15. They never gained traction. Some fashion group was trying to make them a thing and everyone laughed in their face.

  16. If one of my male friends showed up wearing this, and not for loosing a bet, I’d pretend I didn’t know him

  17. I think if you can rock one, you should go ahead and do it. But, like with women, I think its a really specific body type that it looks good on which usually includes thick legs and broader shoulders.

I’d rock it if I had the bod.

  18. Fashion is dumb. No one was asking for this, it was marketing. I saw them once or twice at parties. Whatever. An acceptable reason to wear a short short cut. Real “pick me” behavior.

Functionally, you can’t shit in them without getting nude. Leave dumb fashion to women.

  19. I feel like Rompers were a fad for both men and women years ago. I think when more women voiced the fact that you have to take the romper off just to go to the bathroom, it exposed the problem with them
