A friend of mine who is now in a healthy relationship (usually single) told me he’s been surprised by the surplus of focus/energy he’s recently been able to apply to his passions/interest. He claims it’s because he didn’t realize how much effort he was putting into dating. Now that he’s found his partner he can channel that energy in productive ways.
Can you relate to this? I’d be interested to hear about other’s experience. Also any advice on how to channel this energy if you’re single.

Being happy does give me a lot of energy, yes
Wait til you (they) have babies. Parent reflexes are amazing.

No. At a time it put additional stress on me, as I wanted to give my partner time and effort, take responsibility for her.. while also having to maintain my other duties. At the same time, it all seemed to be worth it.
