Not love, Passion.

  1. Passion is when your mind fuses with your heart. It’s when your logic and your feelings agree on something. It grows when your activity sparks a signal in your brain which leads to your heart.

  2. Passion has an ebb and flow. Passion is fleeting and can manifest in moments of physical bliss with my partner, appreciation for my loved ones, excitement at a new project, sometimes it comes out as righteous anger, sometimes it’s a deep penetrating grief.

Purpose – in contrast – is like steady burning embers. It’s constant, it’s reliable, its unchanging. Having purpose in life is my foundation, its the rock in which I build my life upon. Purpose gives my life meaning.

Passion to me is defined as the moments in between my purpose, they give my life juicy variety and excitement and thrill. Passion reminds me of what it means to live, whether it’s pouring my soul into my journal, or learning to shoot astrophotography, or summiting a mountain in the dead of winter with my cheeks burning and the blood pumping in my ears.
