What’s the most useful lesson you learned from your dad?

  1. The more time you spend in silence and being in a mood, the more you just teach people how to live without you.

  2. Remaining calm and focused in stressful situations can get you very far in life.

  3. That I could stop caring what he thought because he’s an emotionally closed off narcissist whose only goal in life is to make other people as miserable as he is. Not my favorite lesson ever, if we’re honest.

  4. Avoid painkillers, there’s no need to be funny in social situations, don’t be afraid to take chances in life, and cut off those around you that are dragging you down even if they are family.

  5. It’s a toss-up between staying off the booze, and not being a hyper-critical bitch with my loved ones.
