I’d like to chat up strangers in everyday situations (2-3 short sentences at most). Like cashier in a grocery store, gym staff etc) I rarely do it but when I do it makes my day better and I also notice the other person enjoys it as well. Do you have any tips how to do it consistently?

I feel like “I don’t have anything to say” but noticed that lots of people always have something to say, even if they don’t know the other person at all, I’m trying to learn why that is – they might be more “present” so they notice unusual things to comment on maybe?

  1. To chit chat comfortably with anyone;

    1. You need to be updated on current affairs within your community or global. With that you can easily go, yo! Did you see that police chase, or any events that happened that day.

    2. Don’t premeditate what you’re going to say, let it just flow base on what you have heard/ seeing it feeling.

  2. You look around you and see what’s going on. In line at the supermarket, I might ask them about an item in their cart. I chat people up all the time, but I’ve noticed the atmosphere has changed since covid.
