My wife and I have looked at about 8-10 places, she is absolutely ready to buy, like now. Our current lease ends at end of June and we are also going on a trip at the beginning of April,

She’s tired of looking and the whole home buying process,

As for me…I’d rather be patient and find a place we both just love,

Anyhow, we visited a condo a few weeks ago, its on the corner (as mentioned) of a very busy 4 way intersection in our city…the windows are solid aluminum and not a ton of noise, yet you can steal hear it, especially big trucks, the vibration…

Being on a busy road is a huge pet peeve of mine, it has a balcony that overlooks the 4 way intersection, so we won’t be spending time out there in the summer, nor really grilling much…

We’ve literally argued about this apt.

Its roughly 400k, built in 2013, interior is nice and has an indoor garage (we live in a wintry city) and close to bus stop

Is it just me or is this just a bad idea? why not keep looking for something we both love and be patient?

  1. This is a very bad idea. All about this apartment screams that it is a bad idea.

  2. Many years ago, I read an article that said women who lived on busy streets had a higher rate of cardiac problems than women who didn’t. It made no difference for men.

But it would be a nightmare for your peace, your health, and even getting in and out of the parking lot.

  3. What happened with the prior 8-10 places you’ve viewed before this one? Are your desires realistic for your budget? Are you doing your share of the house-hunting work? Do you have a “plan B” if you don’t find something you both love before your lease ends?

You ask if you’re being too stubborn, but there’s no way to tell without knowing more about the situation.
