How do I (26m) reconnect with someone (25f) I haven’t talked to in a long time, with the intention of eventually trying to date?

I have been out of a relationship for a while now, and I’ve been looking at potential people for the heck of it, and a coworker I used to work with about 5-6 years ago pops up in my head. Admittedly, we both used to have a big crush on each other back then, but I was a stupid young boy, so I never got the hint, no matter how obvious it was to either of us. I never really kept in contact with them, as they moved away and just never really kept up with each other. Now, they live back in town, and I was going to try and reconnect with them, but I don’t know how to do it without seeming creepy or weird about it. Perspective from both ends would be much appreciated!
