they would message me first in a lively tone and put effort into getting to know me, and when we met, they either stop initiating conversation and may start replying in a more dry manner. i would assume they didn’t like me much anymore, and stop initiating contact but at least 3 times it wasn’t true. i met with one of them for lunch, and they wondered why i stopped talking to them, the other i invited for crepes with other friends and we had a great time, and the last one told me he was genuinely busy with other things.
