It was middle America on Halloween 1992. We started getting angry callers about klansmen walking around the mall. WTF, right? We found them, and it was a young couple and their kids! Turns out they were from “up north” somewhere and legitimately thought this stuff happened hundreds of years ago like pirates and thought it would be a good cheap costume. We escorted them to their car because by this time, people were threatening them with violence.
