Lady Bird!
Erin Brockovich!
Little Women.
If you’re in the mood to be depressed, Welcome to the Dollhouse is a fantastic movie. It does take a lot out of you when you watch it though.
My Girl and My Girl 2
Muriel’s Wedding
Where the heart js
Howl’s Moving Castle or Kiki Delivery Service.
One of my favorites, Slums of Beverly Hills. Natasha Lyonne is a gem.
As Told By Ginger. Not a movie but still
Sierra Burgess is a Loser
Real women have curves and Quinceañera
Ginger Snaps hit me hard. It’s a horror movie. Cheesy, but heartbreaking. I didn’t watch it until I was in college, but I see a bit of my younger self in Bridget (and maybe Ginger too), so maybe that’s why I’m drawn to it.
Juno. I almost always click on it if it’s on tv lol
Eighth Grade for sure.
It’s about 4 women. Now & Then.
Mine is Slums of Beverly Hills or Now and Then
Slums of Beverly Hills
Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead
Clueless
Bridesmaids
Peggy Sue Got Married
has to be booksmart
Idk if it counts because she’s very young but “what Maisie knew” is beautiful and terribly underrated
No love for Edge of Seventeen? That’s my pick.
Kiki’s Delivery Service
Whale Rider
Clueless
Lady bird
Juno (still traumatized of getting pregnant)
The hairy bird and now and then
Legally blonde, I’ll always love that movie. Not sure it counts as coming of age though
I think Ghost World has mostly disappeared from everyone’s radar over time, so I’ll put it out there.
I just watched Lady Bird for the first time and highly recommend it!! It was perfect!
My Girl.
Perks of being a wallflower
Brave. Every time I cry and have to call my mum and tell her I love her
