What’s your favourite coming-of-age movie centred around a young woman’s story ?

  1. If you’re in the mood to be depressed, Welcome to the Dollhouse is a fantastic movie. It does take a lot out of you when you watch it though.

  2. Ginger Snaps hit me hard. It’s a horror movie. Cheesy, but heartbreaking. I didn’t watch it until I was in college, but I see a bit of my younger self in Bridget (and maybe Ginger too), so maybe that’s why I’m drawn to it.

  3. Slums of Beverly Hills

Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter is Dead

    Clueless

    Bridesmaids

    Peggy Sue Got Married

  4. Idk if it counts because she’s very young but “what Maisie knew” is beautiful and terribly underrated

  5. Legally blonde, I’ll always love that movie. Not sure it counts as coming of age though

  6. I think Ghost World has mostly disappeared from everyone’s radar over time, so I’ll put it out there.

  7. I just watched Lady Bird for the first time and highly recommend it!! It was perfect!
