Make eye contact but not that much. Its normal, when they are doing a presentation or conversation, look at them, and look what they are presenting/doing, or just at your notes.
It just respect and shows that you pay attention if you show that are interested in what they are doing by just looking at them for like 5 seconds. Its hard to explain.
They like when you make eye contact but not stare like a maniac or anything. I’m pretty sure you’re taking notes also.
It really depends on the teacher and the overall environment of the room. Some teachers like to maintain a professional distance and prefer it if students avoid making eye contact or just focus on their notes. Other teachers, however, enjoy making connections with their students and engaging with them through eye contact. See what the general attitude of the class is, and take cues from other students.
No see what you want to do is stare down at your desk stick cotton balls in your ears and scream like Hellen Keller learning what water was.
Seriously? All this concern about eye contact~ are you actually listening to the lecture? The teacher has a couple dozen pairs of eyes on him/her….. there is no focus on you. You may be nursing some remote crush on this teacher and you THINK he’s looking at you. Focus on your notes.
