Would you send a follow up text?

So I matched with this guy on bumble who I used to connect with in our 20s (we’re 40 now). We got to chatting, everything was positive and flirty, we made a date, he seemed super excited.
Then, day of he says he’s sick and had to leave work and called in sick the next day but that we will reschedule. I was positive about it but I didn’t pick a time since I was gonna wait for him to reach out. Now it’s a week later and still no reschedule. I know he likes me because he reupped the bumble expiry and showed a lot of interest in texts. I wonder if maybe I should just check in to reinitiate contact or wait for him to do it?
