Can class presidents actually do anything?

  1. They can pressure the class vice-president not to certify the next election.

  2. They don’t have much power and the school administration is still very much in charge. Usually the student council’s main job is organizing fundraisers and giving speeches at school events.

  3. Typically student council has some say in planning events, like dances and stuff, but no say in how the school operates.

  4. Their primary job is organizing things like Home Coming and Prom and similar social events. They have no official function or power in administration of the school.

  5. Senior class president got to choose senior lunch when I was in school, so they were by far the most powerful person on campus

  6. They can add “class president” to their college application which, all other things being equal, can help their admission chances.

  7. According Eric Cartman his class president killed the Smurf’s…. If you don’t believe me I think he even wrote a book?

  8. The senior class officers are in charge of organizing reunions for their class 10, 20, 30, etc. years after graduation, usually. While they’re still in school, each class presidency might organize other events. They generally don’t have any power to change school rules or budgets.
