I’ve been through 4 social circles so far and none of them lasted, usually because I just get ghosted, and frankly I’m fucking tired of it. So are there any good hobbies or activities I could give a shot that would be good for growing a sustainable friend group?

  1. Join or start a bowling team for league play. Maybe doing volunteer work (pet shelter, hospital, political party…).

  2. I’d say start from “what is the best hobby to get into or place to go”. What do YOU find really interesting or fun? What skills do YOU want to develop (other than social skills)? Where would YOU like to spend your time? Having a legitimate interest in what you’ll be doing with a group a) creates a common ground with other folks in the group, and b) gives you a reason to keep going if you don’t get buddy-buddy with folks right away. Shared interest + developing familiarity = connections.

Two generic suggestions I see pretty often to start you off, but give the matter a little thought re: your own interests: rec-league sports, and volunteering.

  3. Board or Card games could be a solid option. It also lends itself well to potentially handing out with them online since there are a lot of Board Game implementations online.
