So I am a cis woman, have mostly dated cis men and am now married to one. Something I have noticed with quite a few men is their crazy toe nails. Men’s toe nails can grow in CRAZY directions and or can be way wider than regular toe nail clippers. No offense but, I’ve also seen a LOT of haphazard clipping techniques too. This can cause toe nails to become razor sharp after a less than optimal trim. It also just looks bad. It’s not that I care but, after a bad scratch or three during a cuddle I start to have nightmares that a huge eagle wants to snatch me up in it’s talons and claw out my intestines (jk mostly). I had to buy my partner a more specialized set of trimmers. Before that his toenails were jagged because of the clippers he was using only to clip half of that nail at a bad angle to boot.

So how do you get on and did you need specific tools? Did you need to see a medical professional?

  1. Hard to clip toenail on my little toe because it’s inaccessible – like a dew claw.

  2. I get a lot of ingrowns so I’ve got some special tools to dig / cut those out before they get bad. Other than that just regular clippers, and usually the help of my SO (she’s way better at it than me)
