I recommend starting with a simple question and then letting the conversation flow from there. Try asking an open-ended question to get to know the other person better, like what their hobbies are or what they are currently interested in. You can also find common topics to discuss, such as music or books, anything that you both have an interest in. Additionally, if you can, try to find some areas of your own life that you can talk about to make yourself more relatable. Good luck!
Practice active listening. When engaging in conversation with someone, make a conscious effort to listen to what they are saying without interrupting or thinking about your own response. Ask open-ended questions to show that you are interested in hearing more about their experiences and perspectives. Additionally, try to empathize with the other person by putting yourself in their shoes and understanding their point of view.
With practice, these habits can help you become more genuinely interested in others and cultivate more meaningful relationships.
