Men who have a older (8+ years) wife/girlfriend, what is it like?

  1. When I was in my early 30s, I had a gf who was in her early 40s. She taught me a lot about communication, a lot about understanding myself, and a LOT about sex.

  2. When I was 16 I had sex with a girl who was 29. She taught me how to give head and a lot about sex.

When I was 20 and in college I dated a woman in her mid-30s. She taught me a lot about food, different alcohol (armagnac, etc.) and a ton about sex.

  3. I’m alot more adventurous and had a good amount of opportunities in life than most, which I’m grateful for, so often I dated older because of my life experience.

Like every partner, each was different and human with their strengths and weaknesses. Age doesn’t mean anything but the opportunity to experience, and even if they do experience things if they don’t learn from it being older means nothing than having more birthday cakes.

Another thing is that the itch to settle down can be a blessing and a curse. If you’re younger you might want to do more than they do locally or globally.

  4. I had a very brief relationship with an older woman last year. It sucked. I constantly felt anxious and was always worried about disappointing her.

  5. Aside from having some different cultural touch points from growing up in different decades, it’s the same as any other relationship, and the age gap means less and less as we get older. Her family tends to outlive mine, so with any luck we’ll both croak at around the same time.
