Where I’m from in Latin America, people tend to add a bit of lime to fish or seafood salads and I’ve seen people squirt a bit of lime on some soups. I know Mexicans sometimes add it to their tacos.

  1. Yeah, lemon is common with fish. And you find it with some salads and soups here too. It’s also typical with for example schnitzel.

  2. yes lemon is a default taste enhancer. (since it’s acidic)

it’s used mostly for fish and eastasian dishes (like pad thai) in Poland

  3. Pretty rare. Only fried battered dishes (specifically Schnitzel and fried fish) come to mind, but for those a spritz of lemon is almost a must.

  4. Traditionally only on fish and seafood, but on “imported” dishes it might be more common. Citrus fruits aren’t native to Norway.

  5. Definitely common on fish or seafood, also on salad as an alternative to vinegar, and even on chicken sometimes

  6. I think mostly schnitzel and fish like the others wrote, plus in drinks like iced tea. Lemons that is. Lime use tends to be restricted mostly to non-Northern European cuisine.
