Users of this sub, what are your experiences like with step parenting, if any?

  1. It’s been stressful but i don’t regret it, I have a seven year old stepdaughter and she’s the best ball of chaos I could ask for. I want to rip my hair out sometimes but I love her to death and she loves me right back 🥰

  2. I made a decision early in my dating career that it wasn’t for me. I went on a few dates with a man who had kids and while he was a nice person and I liked him, I quickly realized I wasn’t really ready to be a parent on any level, and I didn’t really want to. I knew it was unfair to him, but I’d rather be unfair to a grown man after a few dates than to a couple of kids for the rest of my life.

I probably would have reconsidered by now (not necessarily with him but on my stance of being a step parent) if I was still single, but I have no regrets as a happily engaged step parent to a couple of fur babies.

  3. I had a step parent, and she was just evil. Absolutely horrendous person.

She was a large reason I went no contact with my father.

  4. I always worry my daughter is going to get stuck somewhere and ask my stepson for help
