2. A bit out of the way but I can highly recommend Slough.

3. Gestures vaguely towards the Cotswolds

4. *Royal* Leamington Spa

5. Oxford or Warwick are both good for a day or two of sightseeing.

6. Bits of the jewellery quarter in Birmingham are surprisingly nice. And easy to get to.

7. Cheltenham is lovely
